The Foundation receives and administers all gifts to the ministries of Lutheran Homes of South Carolina, which include Franke at Seaside, the Heritage at Lowman, Rice Estate, RoseCrest, Trinity on Laurens, Lutheran Hospice, BeWell Home Services and BeWell@Home.

Drinking 2-3 cups of coffee a day tied to lower dementia risk

Posted on February 17, 2026 - Did you know that enjoying two to three cups of caffeinated coffee a day might be linked with a lower risk of dementia and slower cognitive decline? A recent Harvard Gazette article highlights a long-term study of more than 130,000 people that found those who drank moderate amounts of caffeinated coffee (and even tea!) showed about an 18% lower chance of developing dementia compared with those who drank little or none — and also reported better cognitive function.
